This week came with an unexpected surprise: news that a collaboration between myself and Jennifer Nu, Snout to Table (Edible Alaska vol. 17, Fall 2020), was named Best Long Feature, First Place in the Alaska Press Club’s 2020 Awards.
Really, my credit is perfunctory, as the main draw is the written article by Jennifer Nu. I’m delighted my photos could provide some visual aid to the year-long passion project that was The Pig. It was such a pleasure to follow the process from beginning to end (and since I was an observer, all while not getting my hands messy, to boot!) The press club judges’ comments were:
